YOU KNOW FULL WELL

Lord You are God who formed the deep
Where no light flows. And You know full well

There is a place where men sleep
Where there’s rest for kings and counsellors of the earth
Who built ruins for themselves
With princes who filled their houses with silver
There is a place where still born are hidden
Where they never saw the light

Lord You are God who formed the deep
Where no light flows. And You know full well

There is a place where the wicked cease from troubling
Where the weary are at rest
There prisoners rest together
They do not hear the voice of the oppressor
The small and great are there
And the servant is free from his master

Lord You are God who formed the deep
Where no light flows. And You know full well

God You are sovereign, wise and mighty in strength!
You shake the earth and it’s pillars tremble
You command the sun, the moon and the stars to seal them
You spread out the heaven and tread on the waves of the sea

Lord You are God who formed the deep
Where no light flows. And You know full well

As deep calls to deep, You call out in my soul
My formation in the depths of the womb was known to You
Sinew upon sinew, bone upon tendon You put me together
Marvellous, wondrous, fearful, awesome and glorious are the works of the Your hand

Lord You are God who formed the deep
Where no light flows. And You know full well

In the lowest parts was my form made in Your presence
You have known my frame, You have known my soul
You know my thoughts and nothing is hidden from You
You comprehend my way and are acquainted with my heart
You know my words, my thoughts and the meditations of my soul
Yet You have laid your hand on me

Lord You are God, the ancient of days
You know the number of my days
There is no space in which You are not
Too marvellous, too wonderful, too glorious is the knowledge of You to me

Lord You are God who formed the deep where no light flows
Lord You are God of light, wherein no darkness lives
